Spear fishing is for boneheads

I enjoy reading the thought-provoking blogs of one of our contributors, Christine Osborne. One of her recent blogs is about the spear fishing of tropical fish off the coast of Australia and how this has lead to the disappearance of some of the large attractive fish such as the giant parrot fish. This definitely has to stop.

  1. Parrot Fish are probably one of the easiest fishes to kill because of their behaviour as they actually swim towards a diver and have a natural curiosity that most other species don't have. Spearfishing has one redeeming factor in that you can choose what you shoot and can avoid endangered or threatened species but if you shoot Parrot Fish you are indeed a bonehead.
